Help provide a safe, nurturing, learning and sharing environment for children during the Sunday School hour, Vacation Bible School and age appropriate special events.
Youth Ministry
Boy Scouts
Troop 210 is based at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church. Contact person is Donna Hinson at 980-521-8060 or jhinson66@carolina.rr.com
Cub Scouts (K-5th grade) meet the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the church fellowship hall.
Boy Scouts (ages 11-18) meet on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
Lutheridge
Lutheridge Camp and Conference Center is located just South of Asheville, North Carolina, on 160 acres. Programs are provided year-round for children, youth, adults, and families. In addition to providing programs, groups also come to Lutheridge to plan their own meeting or retreat. The property includes a small lake, hiking trails, group interaction course, swimming pool, challenge tower, and more!
Blood Drive
This is not a regularly scheduled event at our church. The American Red Cross has set up their equipment in our Fellowship Hall in the past, but it was usually sponsored by a group (Sunday School class, Youth Group) or as an Eagle Scout project.
Vacation Bible School
Our Christian Education Leaders sponsor a Vacation Bible School annually for children age 3 through 5th grade, in June or July. Sometimes, an Adult Class is also available. VBS is usually held for 3-4 evenings, with a meal served at the beginning, followed by class study, music, art, and recreation. The final night is usually a church ice cream social, where the children share what they have learned during the week and to celebrate their accomplishments.
Fall Festival
A Fall Festival, hosted by St. Martin’s W.A.G.S. (we are God’s servants) youth group, is held annually, around Halloween. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in costumes. Children and adults enjoy a casual dinner together, take a hay ride, play games and end the evening with Trunk or Treat.
Christmas Play
Each year, our children and youth have an annual Christmas program, centered around keeping Christ in Christmas, followed by a meal in the Fellowship Hall.
